Tony Blair. Margret thatcher did well during her time. the challenges were greater and the technology and level of comprehension had not risen to what it is today. corruption, in the name of democracy was not rife then. things Have changed. while my coments about Neville Chamberlain are better reserved, I generally think the worst thing the British populant ever made was in electing an enterprising capitalist like Tony Blair. Its a basic life philosophy; work hard today to live large tommorow or narrowly, we spend much of our time planning our futures for the sole reason that its where we will spend the rest of our lifes. so I would not be surprised five years down the drain to learn that Blair had some interests in some oil reserves in Iraq. its pathetic really how can two men convice the entire civilised society to waste billions and billions of taxpayers's money on killing other human beings just because of their selfish greediness and own desires to promote their self interests at the expense of other people, while the money could have been used to complitely eradicate HIV/AIDS in Africa? Tony Blair must be impeached and further tried and convicted of war crimes together with his American ally George Bush...They have succesfully destroyed what was once grotesque, what when we were children when we spoke about took pride in it saying it correctly, The Great Britain. they have reduced a massive force in all countries to nothing ut a laughing stock of the EU. somebody Please do something before its too late. we love the Great Britain her people....Winston Churhill would be surprised to learn that The Britain he fought so hard for has been turned into nothing but a boys play...hitler himself would be shocked to realise that the Britain he left with his theory of Eugenics has been reduced to nothing less than a backyard for Tony Blair and Bush?

Neville Chamberlain. If it had not been for his cowardice millions would not have died. Winston Churchill saved Britain from the Nazis, Margaret Thatcher helped President Reagan defeat the USSR and Tony Blair is one of the few in Europe who have the back bone to stand up to the terrorists

I see most of the answers vote for Chamberlain on this but I'm unsure. If the question was asked again in 20 years say I think Blair would get the vote by a mile. It may sound a bit like Enoch Powell (a brilliant man by the way) but I think Blair and his tatty government have set this country up for national bloodletting.

Chamberlain certainly left us open for adversity during World War Two, thank heavens for Churchill and Beaverbrook.
Margaret Thatcher - worked hard and did her job well, even with the miners and Argentinians trying to unseat her. During her premiership many countries started the slide into the recession of the early nineties, Britain stayed up longer than others.
Tony Blair - got us involved in an illegal war, kept very few of his election promises and the fear of crime (if not the actual crime figures) is up. There is more lack of discipline and respect from the youth of today than any time in the past.
I think my vote goes to - TONY BLAIR

I would rather live in England than anywhere else in the world. Our world reputation is of morality and courage in the face of despotic tyranny. Our Country is still the model for the rest of the world to aspire to. Thats the reason so many people of the world will do anything to be here.
Liberal no hopers have lowered this country more than any of our prime ministers, who have ALL acted with wisdom and an iron will.... except the pinko chamberlain.. Liberal sycophant that he was.
I suspect that the "reputation" you speak off is just a kids attempt to ask a derisive question. YOU have brought this country down, not me.

It's a close call but I would say Tony Blair for the abject surrender of his brain cells to Bush. At least Margaret Thatcher used to lecture poor old Reagan

Well Chamberlain showed his OWN lack of wherwithall, not Britain's as is evidenced by his being REMOVED from office. Thatcher? I'd like to hear the argument for that! What, you just couldn't THINK of another British Prime Minister? tsk tsk tsk moron. That leaves Blair who has pretty much drug the paper lion completely through the mud at this point. What a sad state for the "empire" that is a mere shadow of its former self.

we didnt have a problem with Blair before Bush-for-brains got into power, yet noone else seems to notice this...
at the end of the day, we'll never be entirely happy with any PM so its not worth trying to vote for the worst
