I meet verbal attacks with questions because the offender may not give sufficient reasons for their loud opinions. Generally, the volumn of the attack quickly diminishes while we move into a communication mode.
If the attack remains unreasonable and the subject does not relent with honest reasons I walk.

That all depends on how and where you are getting attacked!

Are we talking about a verbal attack or are we talk'n physical???

If it is verbal, I let them have there opinion and then tell them to keep smiling because everybody loves a moron.

If I get attacked.... You should be scared of the person doing it!!!
I am 35 y/o and have been working out almost everyday for over 20 yrs. I have been studying martial arts for 12 yrs.. (kempo) I weigh 200 lbs. The person attacking is stupid, drunk, or a complete badass!

If I can walk away, I'm going to! I think fighting is stupid... Its really funny... I started working out at 15 y/o so I could defend myself better... Now that I could walk thru most anyone in front of me... I don't want to! Maybe it comes w/ age... or confidence.

Depends if I'm at work or outside the office. At work, I calmly use my "counselor voice" to de-esculate the situation. Outside the office totally depends on what mood I'm in and who is verbally attacking me ... I could laugh, lash out, walk away, or be as sarcastic and obnoxious as possible.

I like to fight back verbally. I have my ways. I feel like whenever I talk to someone, I have an innuendo of how that person may act and I use that against them. I also like to remain neutral at all times to avoid any other conflict. If so, then I'll just have to spit derogatory remarks at them. Spit until they're disgusted and walk away! :)

set the record straight. but, do it diplomatically. i try to remember that the varbal attack is is directed towards the issue and not to me personally. but there are also times when i get verbal flogging for my beliefs and personal opinion. then that is the time to fight back, for what i believe in i mean. i stress that i am not trying to convince anyone or try to change anyone's set of opinions and beliefs. i respect other's right to expression in the same manner that i expect to be respected for mine.

It honestly depends on what kind of day it's been for me. Sometimes I respond with indifference, other times it's like a debate, and on the bad days...the demon is released, and hell breaks loose.
