We pronounce our vowels very differently

For example, to an australian, a new zealander saying "fish and chips" sounds like it's turning into "fush and chups".

It's very subtle, however most Australians can detect a New Zealander accent fairly quickly.

Sometimes it is hard to tell the difference betweenAustralian and Newzealand accents. If some one gets pisssed with you for confusing them, that is not your fault, they need to get a life.

New Zealanders mix up their vowel sounds especially I and E. They talk about fesh and cheps instead of fish and chips, six instead of sex etc.

The Aussie says: "Gimme a pint of that amber nectar, mate, or I'll knock yer bleedin' head off!"

And the Kiwi says: "Please gimme a pint of that amber nectar, mate, or I'll knock yer bleedin' head off!"
