I am a Republocrat... wait I know that sounds crazy. ... But I am at a point where there is only one choice for the rational people to find themselves and that is with a new party. The green party is way to focused on their personal issues, Libertarians are only interested in quasi republican tenants but are weak when it comes to foreign policy.. and the Dems and Republicans both have been hijacked by the corporations.. so it's time that you and I and everyone else that is having a hard time recognizing any party at all... to make a move. Maybe a labor party, ..? I don't know

I am a conservative republican- why?
Because the democrats seem to damn "eager" to try socialism. For some unknown reason they ( dems ) feel they are smarter than past leaders of other countries, where socialism failed. And It always fails! A lack of common sense? Perhaps.

Leaders of socialist governments become megalomaniacs, crushing personal freedoms & rights. Micro-manage and take all the wealth for themselves without concern for any of it's subjects ( not citizens ). All the while creating bigger government & increasing taxes.

What ever happened to small (er) government, protection of freedoms, less taxes, liberty? This country was founded on Christian beliefs .....now you're ridiculed for saying your catholic or christian.
Now it's gay rights....gay marriage....health benefits for same sex couples- Let me remind you all -it was in the beginning- Adam & Eve , not Adam & Steve. Makes me sick.

Hate crime- for saying something stupid in the heat of an arguement or a fight that these militant fags start all the time.
-you can now go to jail. What's next? Thought crime?

in my opinion democrats have been infiltrated by the American communist party - unfortunately the Reps aren't much better.
liberals ( dems) are failed Americans - they believe in the collectivist view on responsibility and accountability - they won't admit their philosophy is a sham because in my opinion they are mind diseased spirochetes. In my opinion anyone who thinks partial birth abortion is acceptable under any circumstance is a spirochete liberal
(your pal clinton prayed about it and GOD said " it is okay")
gun control is the next issue - new york and washington dc have the highest crime rates in america and they have the toughest gun control laws which dont work.
But they still champion the cause of removing guns from fellow citizens( whom they deem to be inferior).

dems have a horrible track record in foreign policy
dems appeal to the bottom feeders through race baiting and class war fare.

Dems voted for clinton once
Dem's voted for clinton twice
they would have done so again if he had been able to run for office a 3rd time

their domestic polices have collapsed - public housing welfare etc

they are all for the public education system controlling the mind of young people in spite of teen pregnancy and illiteracy - they hate vouchers for private school choice because some body might teach the lads about abstinence and that they did not evolve from mud or monkeys.

There are 80,000 registered sex offenders in Calif - recycled by a liberal court system. how many rapist and murders have been propagated by a failed court system operated by 40 years of liberalism - ask the father of Polly Klaus if you dont believe me

liberals spend money they don't have (politician)
liberals spend money they did not earn (constituent)

Since being on this sight liberals have done nothing but bush bash complaining that he spent alot of money this is total HYPOCRACY dems have made a career out destroying our budgets
the list goes on
this is just an abbreviated note I could write a novel

I am a Democrat, I support better education in America, and national health care, by reading some of the things written here, it is obvious why all citizens should be concerned, many have opinions, but few have knowledge of the facts,, it's alarming,,

I'm neither one, any more. I'm not going to vote.

I used to be a Republican, until Bush asked for an injunction to stop the re-counting of ballots in Florida.

I'm a Republican moderate. The moderate side of me understands and agrees with many of the traditional tenets of the party which are as follows and subject to my own interpretation based on my moderate political views:

1. Low taxes for everyone. - When taxes are lowered EVERY ONE benefits, not just big corporations. The less money you make, the more you keep and gain thru the use of tax credits. The more money you make, the more you are allowed to keep after taxes thru the use of tax credits. Everyone wins when taxes are low because everyone has the ability to save money, spend money, and invest money. Business grows and hire more employees, and employees are able to improve their own quality of life with stronger purchasing power. Poor people are given the ability thru low taxes to allow their money to grow and become middle class.

2. Small Government- Expansion of government only increases government bureaucracy and creates unnecessary spending.

3. Strong Military- Continuing to make sure that the USA's Military is second to none as to maintain the capability to not only defend the country from attack, but to protect and engage the defense of our interests world wide.

4. No government intrusion in one's personal life- The government has no business telling any person what they can not do in their bedroom and whom they can be doing something with in their bedroom. The government also shouldn't mandate who should be able to marry, as this is clearly not the business of the government.

5. Personal Responsibility- The government can't make people good responsible adults. That's the job for parents, not government and certainly not the taxpayers. With that in mind I strongly disagree with the "It takes a village" mentality of the Hilary Clinton sect of the Democratic Party. Just because you create a program for something and keep throwing money at a problem, doesn't mean it's going to be solved and go away.

6. Gun ownership- Owning a gun is a right of every American for the purpose of self-defense of themselves and their family. While many in the left (and one person who posted previously) want to ban all guns, they fail to realize that this would only prevent law abiding citizens from owning guns and give criminals an edge, thus making the average citizen ripe for the plundering of criminals. While Law Enforcement should be allowed to continue to have guns, so should law abiding citizens. With that in mind, I have no problem with how each state regulates (i.e. requiring owners to be over the age of 18/21, requiring training classes, etc) gun ownership as long as it does not infringe our 2nd Amendment Rights.

7. Civil Rights for all- People tend to forget that the Republican Party is the same party of Abraham Lincoln. As such I do believe that minorities should continued to be protected, however I also believe that majorities should continue to be protected. One of the principles of the United States is to prevent oppression from the majority rule or the dominance of a few. No one regardless of race, gender, religion, etc should ever be denied their basic rights as given to them by the Constitution of the United States.

Independent. Both sides have good ideas and bad ones. I'm independent because I don't take either side as absolute like people that only vote for one party.
