Ok...so I am subletting an apartment and am being kicked out the 21st of august, yet my roommate is trying to force me to pay for the full month. Am I forced to pay for the full month if this happens? Are there any rules stating otherwise in my favor?

yep, if they are kicking you out you don't have to pay a nickle

Usually you can get the rent pro-rated so you only pay for the days in the month you were there. Unless you violated a term of the lease, in which case you are screwed. If you have a roomie, you should pay your half though, that would be bogus to leave them with the difference

If you signed the lease, then you have to pay, although if you are being kicked out, then no. As long as your being forced to pay for a lease you signed, then you have the right to be at that house/apartment. If they give you trouble, then remind them that you have to have been given court ordered eviction notice 30 days prior from the time you are to be out of the house.

depends on the state you live in, go to your states website and check out the rules. Usually if you r renting by the month you have to have a 30/31 day notice to go, so if it hasn't been that long you might have a recourse for reimbursement for that last week or so.
Your best bet is to check out your states website for you local rules.

You actually are not forced to pay for the whole month at all, because they are kicking you out. Always get everything in writing!

Since you are getting kicked out, you only have to pay rent until the 21st.

He should prorate the days...but if you are in good terms with your roommie and you want to keep it that way, you should just pay for the whole month, maybe he's hard up on cash.

GO TO RENT.COM AND FIND OUT WHAT THE BYLAWS ARE BECAUSE I DO NOT THINK THAT IS RIGHT TO PAY AND IF SO IT SHOULD BE PRORATED
