Forget about it. First of all you'll NEVER get to see the dealer's invoice and, Second, even if you somehow managed to get to see it, there are no "negotiations" on price for a new Harley Davidson. The dealer's attitude is ( and rightly so ) you want a Genuine Harley Davidson ? THIS is the price, take it or leave it. If you can't afford that price or don't want to pay that price then you should consider a Metric "look alike". Trust me when I tell you that NO saavy consumer tactic will work at a Harley dealership, ( Think in terms of going to Ferrari and trying to "haggle" with the sales person there ), in either case, the salesperson won't lose a moment of sleep if you don't buy.

I work at a dealership and no the customer does not get to see the dealer invoice. This is the price that a dealer pays for the bike. This would be like going into a grocery store and asking for their invoice on food to see if you can negoiate a price. Check the Harley web site get the suggested retail price then talk to dealers and find out which one is pricing fair.

look around at all the dealers and if you like a better one at one dealer you may bargain a little. But like said the demand is up and they know they can get the msrp or better on most of their bikes. Look at the used bikes going for as much as a new one almost. Buy a new one with full warranty and keep 3 years. Sell buy another new and loose maybe a grand. Always ride under warranty. Do that on a metric? I get employee discounts and can still come out better on a Harley big twin. With the exception of a few models I would have to sell my employee discount bike before two years are up to get my money back before it depreciates to much.

Pick up a starting price list at the dealer or go to www.harleydavidson.com

Check Harley's websites and check the nearest dealer to you.
Why is that so hard?
