if you can get your room dark enough with foil on the windows and surroundings quiet enough we "night shift workers" require at least 8 or more hours of sleep per day... i have learned that sleeping with the t.v. on helps reduce the noise in the house and drowns out the noise of the noisy neighbors.

6-8 straight solid hours, more if you only get broken sleep. Your needs are the same as day workers. Some people find they need more sleep when they work nights but this is probably because they get woken up every 2 hours or so. You just tend to sleep whenever you can as much as you can.

8 hours. Try to sleep 8 hours before you have to go to work, it will help you to stay awake at night. If you can't then sleep for 6 hours after you come home and another two right before you leave for work.

Sleep requirements vary from one person to another, though 8 hours is typical. It shouldn't matter whether it's during the day or night. But for good sleep, get blackout curtains - the light will mess things up for you otherwise.

Depends on you. What would you normally have slept at night? If you required 8 then you still need 8 if you only need 6 then you still need 6.

I assume you'll need to sleep between 6-8 depending on your own level of "tiredness" during your work schedule.

From five to nine, probably however many you currently sleep at night. It's different for everyone.
