I have not either, but my pastor recently flew and also my daughter and this what they went through - 1) be there at least one hour or more before take off. 2) be prepared to almost undress...well, you will have to take your shoes off, all belongings placed in a bucket and scanned - note if you have cameras with film - let them know 3) You can have a cell phone, but it has to be OFF at all times. Most flights have phones on the plane. 4) Last I heard: some of these items 'were' questionable, but I think they have allowed some: finger nail files, nail clippers, any shiny objects. 5) Best of all - They will allow you a private search (if bells and whistles go off when you step through the monitor) without other eyes watching. 6) Say goodbye to friends and family at the concourse terminal - they won't allow them down into the departure terminal/gate. And finally - to be safe - call the Security Department of the airlines that you are flying to confirm so you will be in the KNOW. I can appreciate your being "nervous", but please - don't stress it. Say your prayers before you go and release it! Enjoy your flight. Satan wants us to be afraid - staying in fear gives him and others who are in his camp power over us - and he is a liar - he has no power over us! You enjoy your trip- take a book, relax and meet the people - smile - don't be standoffish. Let the good in you - show through. Your Yahoo friends - "got 'cha back' (smile)

Obviously, no knives or guns or anything else that can be considered a weapon, and they just started a new rule about lighters. Check with your airport about the number of bags and the weight of the bags; if your luggage exceeds a certain amount they charge a fee. You usually get one carry on, but ladies can take purses as well as a carry on. And don't worry too much, if you end up taking something you are not supposed to they probably will just take it away, unless they have some reason to belive that you are dangerous. If you are of Arab decent though, that may be good enough reason for them, so if you are then you really should be careful. You cannot use your cell phone at any point during the flight, but CD players and such are OK, and a lot of planes have phones in the seats that you can use with a credit card. Good luck!

You can bring a personal bag like a purse and a carry on if it's not too large. Rule of thumb on cell phones...if the door to the plane is closed you have to have the cell phone turned off..that's the whole flight. I would not pack anything sharp like scissors or razors. Also wear shoes like flip flops as they make you take off you shoes most of the time through security. If you have something that security won't let you take on the plane they generally just take it away from you. I have flown lot's of times since 9 11, even overseas...it's really not bad at all and they are just trying to keep everyone safe.

You can bring anything, really except for any weapons or weapon-like things. So, that means No needles, safety pins, or spikey things that could hurt someone in any way. It will be OK, but if the guards at security tell you you can't bring something on the plane, switch it to the bag(s) that hold your clothing and such. You can only have one carry-on bag, but it could be a duffel bag or something...just as long as it's not a suitcase-like thing. No, you can't use your phone while your'e in the air, but some planes have an airphone. It will all be OK, just as long as when you pack, you think about the things that could be considered as weapons, and put it in the bag(s) that hold you clothing and such.
Good Luck!

You don't bring nail files, nail clippers with that sharp pullout, knitting needles, any blade, no lighters, nothing flammable. Just bring your essentials. You can have two carry on items, a small bag and a purse or a small bag and a laptop bag, something like that. The lines go lots faster in the summer when people are wearing little to no jewelry or metal items as well as slip on shoes (sandals, flip-flops) and no coats. Usually, you can check online with your airport and there will be a section to see the dos and don'ts.

Airline Carry-On Luggage Regulations
In order to keep the passenger compartment uncluttered and safe, the airlines place rules and size limits on the luggage that each traveler can carry on the plane. The primary rule is the size limit stating that bags carried on board must be small enough to store below your seat or in the overhead compartment. Currently the basic rule is that carry on baggage must be no taller than 22 inches, no wider than 14 inches, and no deeper than 9 inches. In many cases, you'll also have to contend with limits on weight. We've gathered the restriction details of some of the more heavily traveled airlines below:

I was nervous on my first flight post-911 as well.
Relax. Don't take anytihng that can cut, poke or stab anyone in your carryone, so pack your pocket knife, etc on your checked luggage.
You can't use cellphone once doors are secured, during taxi, takeoff, flying, landing. The crew will advise you.
Don't be nervous. TSA and airline representatives will let you know if you are going wrong. To be safe, just carry documents in your carry one bag and check everything else.
Of course, no flammable stuff, chemicals, lighters, etc. You can check airline website for list of completely prohibited material, or your paper ticket.

Airlines tend to have rules about what is or isn't allowed. You need to call whatever airline it is that you're flying with. No matter what plane you're on though, you won't be allowed to use your cell phone while the plane is up in the air.

No cell phones inside plane. you need to find out about the baggage, some airports are different. I could only have one large one medium and one small plus a small carry on bag.
