Is either faster or slower? Is a wireless connector's signal strength reliable?

Personally I think wired is faster and more reliable. Wired gives you 100Mbps speed, while most wireless nowdays will give you 54Mbps... and will sometimes drop the connection.

But wireless is great for moving around the house, and also for connecting multiple computers to the Internet at the same time without having to run cables all over the place.

So both have their pros and cons... which one is better will depend on your situation. If you have multiple computers (like me) then wireless is probably better. If you only have 1 computer or everything is located close together, then wired might be better.

The wired connection is faster and more reliable, the wireless offers convenience.

I Prefer a hardwired connection. You get more bandwidth, and you eliminate a potential weak spot in your security. My employer provides me with a laptop so I can work at home, but I am prohibited from ever using it over a wireless LAN.

Wireless is a good option if you rent, or if you need Internet access in rooms that would be extremely difficult to wire.

Wireless internet = More convenience. Not as fast as wired.
Wired = Less convenience. Faster than wireless.
