You are too stupid to be an American. Europe is a very large place with lots of countries in it. Kinda like America. The USA is not America it is part of America. Germany started the two world wars which is not Europe. All of Europe was fighting Germany and i did not start it.
I guess there are stupid people in every country. Being you are here I guess that proves it.

How dare you insult our great nation. The European Union is a greater testament to peaceful co-existence then America ever has or will be in its history. As for the world wars, well thats in another time altogether when Europe was an idea not a country in itself. Now it is a country it has the greatest social benefit systems, greatest health systems, greatest diplomatic record, greatest foreign relations. Our technology is far more advanced than the likes of you presume. Why dont you come to Europe and see just how "behind" we actually are. We are advancing in stem cell research to enhance and save lives unlike your Christian fundamentalist government. Dolly the sheep was cloned in EUROPE!! We have the world's largest subatomic particle accelorators. We have better cell phone networks than you. When we get a heatwave the entire eastern seaboard doesn't shut down. When we have natural disasters we dont become hooligan animals in public stadiums while we wait for rescue.
I guess we have a similar if not less powerful economy than your highnesses but we spend it on anything BUT the military because we're clever enough to use DIPLOMACY, a word you Americans long forgot. And we let our states be run by themselves with guidelines from a council unlike you who let a monkey into office-TWICE!!
Our infrastructure is superior to yours, our manufacturing industry is more self sufficient and we are agriculturally more secure.
The only thing you Americans innovate at better than Europe is destruction and sinister power politics. Besides, you took your constitution based on The French Republic's. I could reem off countless European great thinkers and few American ones.
And about the WW2-it was a regular war like the first but on a larger scale. What happens when America enters-they target massive civilian populations in Dresden, they use the atomic bomb on civilian cities when they could have used it on military positions of strength. Why? Because culturally i believe America has this twisted cowboy "we can do anything" idea without thinking of the conseqsequences. And that is exactly the events currently happening as you randomly stride around the globe making trouble in response to the responses to your economic invasion of most of the world in the last 50 years. From the native Americans to the Iraqis, your race of people have alot to answer for. Barbarians who inherited our mechanisms and ingenuity. And look what your doing with it. In my opinion the sooner American global power decays and fades away the better the world will be.
Thank you for listening and sorry if any of the above causes insult but i think you were wrong in the assumptions in your question.

I have always felt that European outlooks involve quality of life over quantity. In American, it seems to me that we are much more interested in technology to help us grow fatter and lazier. We have forgotten about the things in life that pull us together and make life worth living. All about the almighty dollar and being able to show off what we have. Food is always a big issue to me. It seems to me that in this country there are so many especially from the younger generation that wouldn't know a natural flavor if it hit them in the face. Every thing has to be full of sugar and artificial flavor, overprocessed, etc. How many kids do you know that like chicken. I mean actually like chicken. So many of them would not know because everything has to be dipped in ranch dressing or be flavored to taste like something it isn't.
I recently sat on my porch and enjoyed the most wonderful bowl of simple peach ice cream on a hot evening. I refuse to buy into the commercial idea that my ice cream has to taste like cookie dough, or bubblegum, or cheesecake. If I want those flavors, I will eat cookie dough, chew gum, or eat cheesecake. Slow down, back up and rediscover the simple pleasures of life. Everything doesn't have to be innovated.
Get out of the supermarket and go to a farmer's market and buy something local and think of how it was growing in someone's garden a few days ago. In so many places in Europe, the days menu is determined by what is the freshest and best in the market that morning.
Our 'innovation' is to server whatever we can preserve and pump full of chemicals and suffocate in plastice before we ship it across the country where it can sit for a month before serving as "fresh frozen". Innovation.

Who do you think you are? Who do you think invented e.g. television? Maybe you should get away from the tube and get some proper education before you ask silly questions like that. I've been to the States and believe me, some of the things I saw there were far behind what we have in Europe. It started with dish washers and ends with cell phones. Way behind what we have, believe me. I don't have to wash dishes before I put them in the dish washer, because the one I have actually cleans what I put in there. Go figure!
And besides, if wars make stupid, that could be an explanation for your President.

Europe really do have some catching up to do; All those lost profits through giving people decent & affordable healthcare, all that wasted "culture" (effort that could be harnessed to build the next Enron or Global Crossing), all that wasted money spent on entertainment that is actually "funny" and "entertaining, all that beer that has actual beer ingredients in it instead of rice and "beer-favourings", all that real cheese made with that silly "real milk", oh those people are just so far behind America with their silly "thin bodies" and "good health", aren't they?
(Scots not included in generalizations about European health)

"Behind"?? Methinks you learned a different definition of that word than the rest of us did. Europe is far from behind. For example, one of the biggest advances in forensic technology was DNA fingerprinting, which was discovered in England in 1985. That same country now has the most extensive DNA database in the world.
Does that say "behind" to you? I didn't think so.

I think innovation today IS coming from Europe, in medicine and technology, South Korea is even pulling ahead of America in medicine, America is stagnant, if it's not for the military we don't do it.

Behind? Have you ever been to Europe? I have just one answer to your question: cell phones. The ones in the USA are primitive compared to the ones sold in Europe and Asia.

i think war plays a part in the evolutionary process by eliminating the less bright in society, however, to blame it on a century of warfare is too narrow a time frame to see the effects on evolution. It makes logical sense over several centuries, if not millenia.

Socialist governments with cradle to grave care by big government stifles innovation. Why do so many students come to US universities?
