yes, you can use the keyboard, and I actually find those controls to be more precise.

Microsoft Flight Simulator can be played with keyboard controls. Although you do not get the full effect of the simulator if you use the keyboard. It is more complicated without the joystick. I suggest if you play or get this simulator you get a joystick as well. If not, the setup for it is in the options.
