I am really in love with a girl on my softball team, I don't know if she is open to other girls or not. How do I let her know without risking our frienship. I soooo want to kiss her!

if you already have a close friendship, she will probably be flattered, if she's not gay. if she's open to it, even better.
a (straight) friend of mine had the same situation with a good guy friend of ours. i encouraged her, even though she didn't want to 'risk their friendship'. it could be even better! the worst that will happen is a 'no'. she just married the guy 3 months ago. sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't, but you never know until you try.

there's a lot of good suggestions already here... asking her if she's ever thought about kissing other girls, etc... once a girl i knew finished putting on lipstick, turned to me, and said ,"how do i look? if you were queer, would you think i was hot?" that was pretty nice, since i wasn't out yet...
whatever you do, don't be too hung up on her first reactions. some people may not have thought about it much, and she may be a little taken aback by a gentle comment. don't worry about it, though. i've heard so many stories of, "i thought my friend was cute, but i wasn't into girls..." that ended with the two if them in love. so... be as honest as you are comfortable with...and be prepared for anything

Anyways! One way you could find out if she was into girls, is to ask her about a lesbian movie or nevel. Maybe her answer will hint towards liking girls. Or you could just ask her straight out.

Of course, there's always the really fun way. "Hey, I have something really important to tell you... I only have six months to live." Observe her crestfallen countenance, then perkily say: "Just kidding; I'm in love with you." I've never tried that one, but if you do, let me know how it goes. It sounds like it would be fun.

Start off by being her friend. Ask her if she thinks homosexuality is wrong. If she responds with something like, "No I don't think it's wrong. I'm bisexual (or lesbian, whichever)" then go for it.
I recently had a friend tell me he's gay. He told me by first asking me if I thought homosexuality was wrong. I told him I didn't think it was a big deal and that's when (I guess) he felt safe enough to tell me.

gotta love the bible thumpers answering your question...lol....makes me wanna kiss the bible thumper...lol.....anyway...this is touchy, you dont want to risk making her feel uncomfortable especially if she is straight...but if she is straight and sure of who she is...saying god, i wanna kiss you...she will say hey i am straight, but thanks for the compliment...i am shy...so i would never do that...ask around to see if anyone knows if she is a lesbian...and single...and by all means if she is...ask her out for a drink or coffee after a game...and then start talking...and then maybe you will get a kiss.

If you're not comfortable being direct with her, just slip it into a conversation. Tell her about a girl you used to date. See how she reacts to that.

Don't be ashamed of asking straight out...why do people keep worrying about what the other person thinks?? Be who ur and be happy with it, be proud and love yourself gay, straight, black, blue, green, short, tall, or with 4 breasts (he he).
