ignition, my truck won`t start when you turn the key switch, but only when you connect (jump) the seliond to the battery terminal.

replace ingition switch, key switch, neutrual safety switch, battery & cables, and starter. also checked the rod from key to ingition switch. still will not start.

Sounds like the selinoid. Get a cheap meter or test light and check for voltage at the selinoid when the key is turned. If it's not there, it may be a security system relay. Does it have a car alarm? If so, there will be some relays close to the control unit. Your selinoid wire is a small wire and I think it's black with a red stripe. Check www.bulldogsecurity.com and look up the wiring colors. As I don't know what year your truck is, I really can't tell you for sure. Otherwise, run a fused hot wire from the battery to a push-button switch you can mount on the lower dash and run the other side of that switch to your starter. That will get you on the road until you find out what's wrong. Good luck.

Sounds like a bad starter solenoid. replace the starter and you should be good.

its either starter or starter cable...the starter is not getting any power
