Is mac operating systems better than Windows, if yes why do most ppl use windows?

The overwhelming reason why people use Windows is that most software runs on it. It's all the developer side; it's just too hard or expensive for new developers to make their programs work on both Mac and Windows. The inertia of Window's popularity makes them favour Windows. Also people are shackled to file formats associated with programs that run on Windows, e.g. Microsoft Word.
