In a few weeks I will be going away to visit family, and while Im there, an old friend from school is going to be there too. I have no idea what I am going to say when I see him, we were pretty close in school (as close as you can get without being "sexual") so there's alot of mixed feelings going on.. plus I am shy to begin with so that doesnt help. I need a few suggestions maybe ice breaker questions. My mind is totally blank!! Thanks in advance!

Hi
I am happy for you. This sounds exciting, you are concerned and nervous so this person must be very special,
everyone has already answered your questions and given you excellent suggestions,

When you see him, it will come natural, like riding a bike,
just take it slow, and catch up, and do what ever you used to do when you were around him before,

If you have romantic hopes, then be sure and find out if he is involved, or interested in you..as soon as possible,
and if you are or kinda have someone, be honest and get that understood asap ,,
It would be a wonderful thing if you and he are ready and available to start a relationship romantically if that is what is on your minds,
the good thing is, being friends first, and you already are is the best way.. and long term meaningful relationships really have a great chance of being permanent if you are good friends, good luck have fun.
Ps. don't be too eager, too easy for the romance part, it might scare him off, or be a big let down for him after all this time, make it exciting,,

I totally get what your saying. I am in similiar situiation. My friend and I used to go to jr high school together. We were close, great friends, never anything romantic. We always liked each other, but he moved away joined the army and i am now married. He is coming back to ohio in october. I still very much have feelings for him even though im married. My marriage is not so good, and I have no intentions on cheating. If a divorce does occur then I might pursue a relationship with this friend.

One thing you could say is Hi. How have you been. Then just go from there. it is so awkward at first because you have not seen each other in a long time. And when you do see each other those feelings might be stirred up all over again. I know mine have been ever since that first email about 4 months ago. Good Luck. It will all work out in the end.

If you were really close then it shouldnt take long to break the ice again. Just ask him what he's been up to etc and throw in references to when you used to hang out. You can have hours of conversations just taking about the past. Hope it goes well!

remember that he's probable feeling merely as awkward about assembly you as you're about assembly him. i imagine it ought to be appropriate in case you went on my own. you choose him to be comfy. recommend assembly at celeb greenbacks or something. this way you may have espresso and visit for a 0.5 hour or so. If issues bypass properly, you could continually recommend lunch or dinner (counting on what time that is). no choose to hug him, as you stated, you do not somewhat recognize him and this may properly be awkward for both one among you.

That sounds like fun! And you will have a lot of catching up to do. So- ask all about what he has been doing since school and share what you've been up to, also.

Have a great time!!

If you were friends what will happen is after you hug and say how glad you are to see him and how he hasn't changed a bit, you'll talk about old friends and old times. Then you'll talk about what's been happening since you last saw each other....it'll be very easy. Have fun.

Talk about the past and other people you knew when you were in school together. Talk about the things that you have gone trough since last seeing him and ask him about his experiences as well.

Don't worry about it, it will happen naturally, just tell him how good he looks, hopefully he does. And tell him, you want to hear all his news.
Once that's said, all should go well, you were friends once, and it should be very easy to catch up with each other.

"You look fantastic!"

"You look wonderful!"

"Wow I hardly recognize you, you've improved your appearance so much!"

"It's like we just saw each other yesterday!"

"There's that familiar old smile!"

"There's those magnificent eyes!"

"Thank you for coming to see me!"

"Thank you for taking the time to be with me!"

"I've looked forward to re-kindling our friendship!"

"I've looked forward so much to this day!"

"It's great to see you again!"

"Wow, you're even more handsome than I remember!"

You can't go wrong with "Hey! How have you been?" "It's so good to see you!" That will open up more topics hopefully.
