I think it can be pretty much any amount. The $10,000 mentioned above is referring to something else; that is, if you take out or put in less than that amount into a bank, the bank doesn't have to report the transaction.
I am guessing that as long as the amount is declared and taxed properly in both countries it can be as high as you want it to be.
