I get this sharp pain right in my chest which goes all the way through to my back. It sorta feels like when you eat too fast and the food isn't going down & gets stuck halfway through. I drink alcohol daily so I'm not sure if thats the cause. I've asked my doc and I had a ekg test and nothings wrong. So what can be the problem.

It may be that you suffer from indigestion. This gives the patient the feelings that are experienced by people who do have heart problems. The thing is, if it is releived by an antacid such as Mylanta..then it is most likely indigestion..or it could be a duodenal ulcer, in which case you need to take something like Omeprazole, which is an anti-ulcerant. This should allay the pains you are getting.
When people come to the ER I give them a mixture of lignocaine Viscose and Mylanta//if the chest pains go away then it is most likely they have an ulcer.
Heart problems can be defined from ulcers/indigestion from the severity of the pain and the "Crushing" feeling (like and elephant is sitting on your chest is the best description). If the pain is felt in the jaw or radiating/referral pains to the shoulder..call the ambulance and get to the ER STAT!!! An ecg can be done and bloods taken to determine extent of heart affect from the chest pain

Likely explanation from your ecg looking "Normal" that you have an ulcer..or..if it is heart related..the episode had resolved and will not show up on the ecg at the time.
Oh, and try to stem the drinking or give it up hon...drinking can cause gastric ulcers to form :(

Wow. It turns out like your describing some thing very similar to what I skilled as a child and every now and then as an grownup. I get the ones achy, sharp anguish in my chest / rib field. Often the anguish is moderate however normally it is so dangerous I can barley take a breath. It additionally feels find it irresistible begins on the backside of my rib cage after which travels up my aspect because it slowly is going away. I used to be instructed by means of my health practitioner it used to be "developing" pains. Then while I used to be older, I introduced it up once more and he stated it might be a muscle junk mail. It's been months in view that I've had one. With me, the anguish handiest final a couple of seconds and on the so much a minute or 2. They additionally handiest appear to occur a few times in an afternoon while i do have them. I could advocate that in the event that they arise extra more often than not, more than one instances in an afternoon I'd see anybody approximately it. It might be not anything or it might be some thing (sort of visible reply).

I don't know about the problem but try drumming softly for eleven minutes on the area with the tension. If it is muscular
A softer option is to drop your jaw when you exhale en let it come up when you inhale. WHILE you are focussing on the painful area.
if it is grief stored in the chest
It cold be the acid of the beer... which creates the pain.
then eat some bread with the beer.
take care

There are three nerves that run along your stomach. One of them leads into your chest. If you are consuming alcohol, your stomach may become irritated, which in turn may irritate that nerve and cause you to have chest pains. The pains are similar to that of a heart attack (in men). Women's symptoms are different.

Stress may be leading you to drink. Reduce your stress level a different way and you may see the symptoms go away.

Are you a smoker or have asthma? Certain types of chest pain and back pain are caused by that. Did your doctor check for pneumonia?
