I just got home from lab today to hear my little brother (16) giving my mom advice on her retirement. He was telling her all about her personality and what she's doing wrong, not even listening to her when she said she enjoys her work and doesn't really intend to retire. What's the dumbest advice you've ever received or heard from a know-it-all friend/family member?

i was told I would get pregnant and not graduate high school before I was 18. Or college and be an alcoholic for the rest of my life. I am 18 and I'm not pregnant and I graduated from high school and am going to college in the fall. My grandfather told me that was what I was going to do, so Not exactly advice but close enough.

I'M SURE THAT HE IS NOT HER ONLY SOURCE OF ADVICE. MAYBE SHE ASKED HIM SO HE CAN FEEL THAT HE IS A PART OF HER LIFE. YOU NOW HAVE THE DOOR OPEN TO STATE YOUR OPINION. GO FOR IT.

get a college degree, any degree, from any college, as long as you get the degree, that's all you need.
