My female friends are well adjusted people with healthy levels of self esteem, but they date and marry jerks. These guys will completely respect their girl and all her female friends, but will disrespect any male friend, his or hers, that's around. When drunk, these guys are obnoxious, insulting, and the life of the party, but they piss of every dude who comes across them. Wouldn't a girl be embarressed to be around them? Are women hoping these boys grow up into men?

But, these guys have rich families, are tall, good looking, and are doing well professionally. Did I just answer my own question...

Absolutely, you just answered your own question.

The reason they're "respectful" of their girl and her female friends is NOT because their nice guys...their treatment of other men demonstrates that. Either the price is too high when they disrespect their girl & her friends (as in, "later" in private...), or quite frankly they're trying to get into the pants of her friends.

What they REALLY think of others is demonstrated in how they treat those around them that they don't deem as equals - if they perceive another guy as less wealthy, less good looking, less tall, less professionally successful.

This is related to a very good adage in business - you can tell a lot about a person by how they treat those who serve them - how a man treats a waiter, a store clerk or the dry cleaning person is WAY more insightful into their character than anything else.

If they have such high levels of self esteems, why are they marrying jerks. It is a reflection of them. It sounds like, maybe they are just interested in the material things.

It is, of course, entirely your fault. You should be providing your girlfriends guidance on the type of boys they should be dating...
