actually they were not that concerned as they made a fortune, both US and UK arms companies selling the weapons that saddam used to terrorise his own country's population ( i was going to say his people, but i think those folks would take umbrage at that turn of phrase). Its a bit rich that our countries can make a fortune selling these weapons to unstable countries and then blow them to bits when they disagree with foreign policies. Just remember, saddam was going to sell oil in euros which is the reason for iraq copping it just now - the dollar would have went down the tubes quicker than a ruble defecting.

No, that was not the justification for entering Iraq. Saddam Hussein's government was suspected of manufacturing and hiding weapons of mass destruction. That, after 9/11, Afganistan, and so on, made Iraq a target for the Bush/Blair agenda.
As for Israel, this is an attack on the Hezbollah organisation, who are situated in Southern Lebanon, in retaliation for an attack on Israel (the kidnapping of a soldier).
Israel stands out in the Middle East as a pro-USA/West supporter. That is why they automatically get support from the USA.
The history of Israel may be of interest to you.

They did not give a s**t about Saddam mistreating his people, what they were worried about was that Iraq had created a dangerous precedent by selling oil in Euro's, not Dollars. Iraq was not habouring terrorists, Saddam did not want anything to do with Osama Bin Laden or his ilk, he hated them. There are a lot of tin pot dictators around the globe a lot worse that Saddam, If the US is such an altruistic peace loving state why don't they invade Indonesia, Burma and the Congo to "democratise" them? Of course, Oil does not have any thing to do with it does it? (Not much!)

Because you are buying into the spin that the media is selling you. Why is Hezbollah putting rocket launchers in civilians backyards and in towns? In a war, unfortunately, there are civilian casualties, on both sides. Why are you not worried about how the Lebanese and other terrorists strapping bombs to themselves and walking into crowded Israeli establishments and killing innocent people? Try to see both sides of the story, not just the side the news media is selling you.

Saddam was murdering and torturing innocents. The Lebanese in the southern portion that are being affected by the Israeli counter attacks, have supported Hezbollah. Weather actively, or passively, by not turning them over. They are not completely innocent in this situation. And the Lebanese were warned before the ground war began, by Israel, to evacuate. They didn't go after innocents for pleasure, they are attacking people (Hezbollah) who attacked their border and killed and kidnapped their soldiers.

thats technicly not logical.
saddam treating HIS people
does not tansfer to Isreal treating someone elses people.
this question is posed as being a 1, 2, 3 follow the logic question but its not logical.
and... you do know hezbollah was launching rockets into Isreal? what exactly should they do? if they dont stop Hezbollah then more innocent Isrealis will be killed.
and so you see, Isreal DOES care about its own citizens.

we weren't so much concerned with how sadam was treating his people as we were that iraq was a nation state harboring
terrorist and promoting terrorism. You comparison to lebanon
is silly. You hate bush, we get it.
