If a woman gets an abortion and doesn't tell her husband, is there anything he can do about it? Can he gain access to her medical records?

Wait a minute here! This is the man you married! For better, for worse! I think he has just as much right to know as you should have over your own body! Unless you "cheated" on him and it's somebody elses? Maybe you don't even know "who's" it is! Are you trying to "hide" it from your husband ! What's wrong with this picture? "If" it's your husband's baby, it's his baby too, and he's got to know! Are you still going to be able to live with him knowing that if it is his baby, you did this wihtout telling him!? How long do you think you're going to live with yourself and the guilt if you go through with this? I F YOU GO THROUGH WITH THIS What's going to happen every time you have sex with your husband? He's going to know something is wrong, you think it's going to be the same? You think you'll be able to get in his bed after doing something like this? You've got to either need some serious phsyc help or be one cold "B"!{Sorry} Sure it's your body and yes a women should have the right over her own body , but there's a possibility of 3{ husband, baby, possible boyfriend} other people being involved here , don't "they" count for something? The baby dies and the husband has to live with the memory of what you did for the rest of his life , even if he leaves you! Then if there is a "boyfriend" what about "him" ? Oh ya that's right, you don't tell him too, and now everythings ok! I hope you read this very carefully who ever you are! If your doing it without him knowing because you are affraid of loosing him, guess what? You already have! Any way you look at it, "I" think anybody who could go behind the man's back that she's supposed to love and is carrying his son or daughter, has a serious problem, seriously! If you love him do the right thing and don't go behind his back, tell him ! He deserves to be told! You?If you go through this without telling him, You deserve whatever you get! The only thing that might change my mind is if he forcibly "raped" you! Or if you were raped, then he's got to know!

It would be nice if any women let their husband to know. If husband is not good and very drug, or drinking, or abused, what ever it reason then she don't have to tell him. But if he want to have a baby and you don't then have to talk to him about this.
It take two people to make decided to abortion. Not just one person to make it. Again it take two people (Man and Woman) to make baby.
It not like the stories we hear like if you kiss will get pregant, Bird and the bee, hug, thinking about baby, stuff like that didn't mean you can get pregant. So, two people need to make decision to make. It better than doing it alone.
He will not have gain access to her medical record no matter if married or not he will not have access period. That why it better if both talk about it and see what need to be done. that way he will know what going on becasue wife have the access information to share with him. If you don't share with him Bad Karma will come look for her back. So make it simple and talk about it and solve it ... hope that helps.

In general no there is nothing a husband can do, A woman can get an aboriton without his approval because she is an adult and able to agree to the abortion legally under her own capacity and medical records are strictly confidential..doctors cannot give them out to anyone for any reason.

Yes she can have an abortion without "anyone" she knows knowing about it. She will have to pay for it using cash. She can also give wrong information (address, etc).
My friend did this and gave a false name and address. They were unable to call her back to tell her that the abortion was not complete and that she needed to come back in. This caused many problems for her having to find out later on her own that she was still pregnant. She had the second abortion, they believed that she was having twins.

Not at all. If your married, it takes both signatures and ID's. If you aren't married, alls you have to say is that you don't know who the dad is, and just get it aborted. If the father has something to do with anything, he does have an opinion...which sometimes sucks. Good Luck

I think so. I don't think he can do anything to find out or take legal action, because things like that (or anything medical) are supposed to be confidential and not given out without consent.

It's a bit diffrent state to state....but in general no. women have all the legal power when it comes to unborn babys.
