People fear what they don't understand.
Sadly many bisexuals have to deal with the "too gay for straight people and too straight for lesbian/gay people" stuff. There are also many bi myths out there like being unloyal (which is a choice everybody makes bi, straight, lesbian/gay, whatever) and that bisexual get to choose (which is just untrue, do you get to choose) and so on. With education and more bi people being "out" things with get better. I think so anyways.

Many gay people assume that when you say you are bi, that you are really gay, but you are hanging onto the straight half by saying you are bi, because bi doesn't sound as "bad" as gay.
It is true that some people who label themselves bi are really gay, and either hiding it, or haven't yet fully come out to themselves.
But as gay people we need to remember two things. First off, there are some people who truly are bisexual. Secondly, even if a guy (or gal) is in that transition area, we all came out at our own speed and in our own way. We need to give everyone some space.

I know exactly how you feel. The straights I can live with not understanding but it's the few in the "tolerant " gay community not understanding that angers me. There is so much discrimination within the LGBT Community. Not only anti- bisexual, but racism and discrimination against those of us who aren't built like Greek gods or skinny toothpicks. It's really is sad.

Personally, I don't get the whole labeling thing anyway. I classify myself as a lesbian because it's easier to explain that my soul mate happens to be in the form of a woman! Am I attracted to women....definately more so than men. But this also doesn't mean that I think all men are dog-*** ugly either. I'm not blind. I definately do NOT want to sleep with a man, though. : - )

when you tell people you are bi a lot of them think it is because you don't know which side of the pillow you like more. most people think that you say you are bi because you are confused. I personally don't have a problem with it but a lot of people don't like it when they think you sound confused

I think all bisexual face more not less discrimination than gays. It would be easier to deny our desire for the opposite gender and just come out gay. I think that gays need to realize that their discrimination of us is just as bad if not worse than the discrimination they face. It is worse because having faced it themselves they should recognize it and fight against it.

they feel betrayed. They want you to choose one and not the other instead of going both ways
