Leather: is cold on the legs and back in the winter. It can be expensive to repair if it gets torn. If you don't do routine care on it, it can look really old and worn. It shows scratches, too.
But it looks great, and entitles you to bragging rights at the water cooler at the office
I'll keep my velour seats, thanx. Vacuum them off once in awhile, clean spots if/when they appear,no freezing or boiling legs and back. No scratches. No routine maintenance. This car is almost 5 years old, I drive an hour each way from work, plus errands, and my upholstery on the driver's side looks like new.
Good luck with your choice, I luv a chamois colored interior with a black or forrest green car.

Ah, good question. Leather is nice, cleans up nicely, and looks great, and classy, the only downside is that it is affected by the temperature, you will freeze your butt off in the winter, and burn in the summer, of course you can have heated seats in the winter but
not much you can do in the summer.

You have to make sure you take care of leather, so it doesn't start to look old. It gets REALLY hot during the summer if you have leather. I would never buy that option in my car.

Upside: Looks great, feels great. Less dust in the car. Spills don't soak in.
Downside: Can be slippery. Hot in the summer. When it gets old, it can crack and show its age.

/\Ups- Looks nice, easy to clean, doesn't wear out as fast.
\/Downs- Can be very hot in summer, legs in shorts and short skirts can stick to the seats in summer, more expensive.

upsides - it looks great
downsides - you can't put anything on the leather that will snag it (something sharp, dog's claws, etc.), if it rips, the fun is over
