Not sure what you mean exactly, but a standard line splitter from radio shack should work if you want to split the line from the wall into your computer and another computer or another phone (but most modems have the extra line for a phone)

Umm what do you mean? as in useing the dialup to connect two computers together? what kind of modem? I think it would not be worth it to splice the modem into two if its a dial up. For a cable modem, Just get yourself a crossover cable, (providing both computers have a network card), and network them together with internet shairing.. It would probably be better and easier to network them together then to splice the modem... ( I don't think it would be possible to splice them anyway), as there has to be addresses for each line that your connecting, and if the modem is only set up for one address then it would not work for two without scripting the modem or something like that..
