You should periodically drain the battery all the way. And laptops are not meant to run 24/7. You should power it down for heat reasons.

Keeping it pluged in most of the time is OK, but not all the time. A battery must be 'exercised', meaning the power must be allowed to drain and then be recharged. If you have it plugged in all the time anyway, just take the battery out altogether and run off the plug.
I HOPE that you are not leaving the computer on all the time too? This is a killer on the mother board and other electronics. So is leaving it in sleep mode all the time.

It trains your battery the wrong way. Laptop batteries are like cordless phone batteries in the sense that they get trained in terms of usage time. As far as leaving it on all the time..probably not a good idea due to possible overheating problems

It is safe, but I will not recommend it. If over charged your battery will die faster and then you may have to replace, which can become costly. I know this from experience.

yes, that's fine... but just make it sure it goes in to sleep mode when you aren't using it. mine goes automatically into sleep mode when I close the lid. but check it because the there's an obstruction in the mechanism then it doesn't go to sleep and then starts burning up -- this happened to me once.
