Does this mean I am uber-territorial?

Funny, men don't get nervous when I work on their cars, of course I know what I'm doing.

I feel the same way. You have your way of doing things, and your man may have a different way of doing things, and no matter how helpful he may seem, it doesn't do any good since you either have do things all over again in order to keep it to "your taste".

In my case, my husband insists he wants to do the dishes sometimes, and without a dishwasher we both do the dishes by hand. Unlike myself who is thorough with each plate and utensils we wash, he just wipes a little bit and then puts it in the drainer without rinsing it half the time. Without a doubt, there are still food stuck, which means that he didn't scrub for long enough.

I do things in a certain order, like wash glasses, utensils, plates, pots and pans, in other words, from the less greasy to the greasiest, so that one soapy dishwater can last through the entire wash. He, instead washes the greased up pan first and everything he washes has grease all over.

The last time, I yelled at him and told him to please not do the dishes anymore.

Also while I appreciate him cooking dinner sometimes, I also dread it because he doesn't clean up as he's working in the kitchen.

So in view of that, I understand too well how you feel.

Relax and enjoy it any day you can get a man in the kitchen to cook is a good day. Maybe your feel like it's your duty or are afraid of what the kitchen will look like afterward kitchen's clean and your stomach will recooperate.

I feel the same way. It's your kitchen. It just means that the way food is prepared is important to you. I let someone cook something in my kitchen once and they set off the smoke alarm. I will never forget the shock of that day!

I just think that you enjoy sharing food with your boyfriend and you want it done right.

Now that I think about it. . . Will you marry me?

It's the same nervous feeling a man gets when a girl works on her car with his tools!

It could just mean that you not being in control freaked you out a little. You might be a controlling type person that just likes things done the way that only you can do them.

No, you're probably wondering if he's been abducted by aliens, reprogrammed and brought back right under your noise.

Whenever my ex used to "fix" dinner it was BK or frozen pizza, hope yours is better.

I think it is a combination of that and maybe he is starting to try and take care of you in the husband/wife kind of way.
