If you switch to propane, you will ALSO have to change the pilot lights, and burners in everything!

Propane IS a gas.
NG or Propane is what you mean. Well, its preference, really, NG you buy through a line and you're billed every month. Propane they install a tank near your home and you pay to have it refilled so the bigger the tank the less often you need to refill it but the more it costs to fill it.

WE HEAT AND COOK WITH PROPANE AND DEPENDING ON WHERE YOU LIVE YES THE PRICE CAN BE HIGH FOR PROPANE I HAVE NEVER USED PROPANE BUT I HAVE USED KERO AND I WILL NOT GO BACK TO KERO PROPANE BURNS BETTER BUT YOU COULD ALWAYS CONTACT SOME PROPANE DEALERS TO GET ESTIMATED PRICES IF YOU ARE ALSO CONCERNED ABOUT THE AMOUNTS AND COMPARE BUT I PERSONALLY LOVE PROPANE ITS BETTER FOR YOU AND MY OLDEST SON HAS BREATHING PROBLEMS AND SINCE WE SWITCHED TO PROPANE HES BEEN DOING GOOD

I suspect you refer gas as natural gas and propane is lpg. Natural gas is the best in australia as it is cheaper. Heats well and can run heating, cooking, water, barbeques and even natural gas cars. LPG liquid petroleum gas (or propane) is bottled gas and is usually a much dearer option.
