Get rid of Stretch Marks?

The best way to get rid of stretch marks is visiting a dermatologist or plastic surgeon. These doctors can actually help you with various treatments like actual surgery, and laser treatment that diminish the appearance of stretch marks. However, it can be costly.

Alternatively, try the following methods to get rid of / to prevent stretch marks:

1. Microdermabrasion

2. Apply cocoa butter into the stretch marks.

3. Massage with vitamin E oil into the stretch marks, especially after shower.

4. Apply tretinoin cream after consulting your doctor, since this cream is available by prescription only.

5. Eat foods that are rich in vitamin A, E and C. You can take supplements along with your regular diet. (However, pregnant women should have this after consulting their doctors.)

6. Eat foods that are rich in zinc, and silica. These are good for skin and help form collagen, the supporting fibers in the skin.

7. Eat foods that contain essential fatty acids. For example, vegetables, vegetable oils and fish oils. This will help make cell walls.

First, you should know that your stretch marks will gradually become much less noticeable in the months after you give birth. But if they continue to bother you, consider making an appointment with a dermatologist to discuss treatment. Here are a few options:

In one study, using this cream reduced the length of the stretch marks by 14 percent and the width by 8 percent. In another study, it decreased the length by 20 percent. However, there's no good information about how the medication is absorbed, whether it gets excreted in your breast milk, and what effect it might have on your baby, so it's not safe to use while nursing. And because the cream works best relatively soon after delivery, while the marks still have their darker pigmentation, it may be too late to try it after your baby is weaned.

Laser therapy is another option if you're looking to improve the appearance of stretch marks postpartum. According to the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, a surgeon will use different types of lasers depending on the color of the stretch marks. One type reduces the color of dark stretch marks and another stimulates the production of pigment-making cells in already faded stretch marks. A newer type of laser therapy can be used to stimulate the production of collagen and help restore the skin's elasticity in depressed stretch marks.

It's unlikely that your health insurance plan will cover such "cosmetic" procedures. So if you decide to go that route you'll probably have to pay for the consultation and any treatments out of your own pocket.

'm afraid that research is suggesting that once you have stretch marks, there is no magic way of getting rid of them. The skin has stretched beyond what it was capable of and the marks are the result. Keeping the body well lubricated during pregnancy suggests that you might be able to control them but that is as a preventative measure. The good news is that stretch marks will fade. Sorry, but once you have them, you are stuck with them.

I'm not sure how you can really get rid of stretch marks all the way but you may want to try cocoa butter and put it on daily and they say that helps the look of stretch marks dissipate some

Cocoa butter and microdermabrasion. Use Spin spa dermabrasion head to cover larger areas of the body and smooth cocoa butter in everyday.

It takes time but seems to be working on me.

Vitamin E oil helps with getting rid of them. You can buy the oil in a bottle. Or for conveniance... buy Vitamin E oil capsules. Just pop the capsules with a needle, squeeze out the oil and apply. It's almost like having "one-time" use capsules and you can throw it away after!

coc butter or shea lotion will only lighten the scas, but as the first poster suggested, if your really lookig to get rid of them, you should look into laser options, or go to a skin clinic, that would be your best bet, but in the mean time, you can pick up a bottle of coco butter or shea butter lotion at your local drug store / wal-mart place.
