should be able to connect them with a cable........depending on the two componants, but then again you can buy them together you know.......it might make your life a wholllle lot easier

Yes you can you need a Cat 5 cable its the big phone line looking cable, ( make sure its not a crossover cable) thats for connecting two computers directly together.. Then just plug them together, and turn them on. The Cable modem should be first from the cable internet, then from there to the router, and from the router to your pc's.

Your router and cable/modem should have each came with a network cable (usually grey, blue or yellow). Take one, plug one end into the network jack on the cable router, then take the other end and plug it in where it says WAN (should be separate from the other 4 ports).

Then take the other cable and plug it into your network jack on your computer.
