My baby got his first tooth when he was around 7 months old. But his doctor told us that the later they start getting their teeth, the better it is for them. She said the later they come in, the longer it will take for their baby teeth to fall out and I don't really know why that is a good thing but she said it was so I wouldn't be concerned about it at all.

No, I didn't have any teeth at a year. Some children have teeth at birth, and others get them after they are a year old. Your child is totally normal. If your child does not have any teeth at 18 mos, I would ask your doctor about it. More than likely, your child is just late getting teeth.

children get teeth at all differnt times. If mine did not get teeth by a year I would think about taking them to the dentist and have a xray done just to make sure everything was comming in ok.

You should check with the doctor, but my friends dad is a pediatric dentist and he says if they don't come in by 18 months, then you should have the baby looked at.
