england, they were doing so well, my family actually believed that they'd make it this year, but no. they were all crying. so then i supported france (cuz i do french at high school) and they let me down, it was so sad. i wouldve supported italy, but my ex is half italian, so neah. i cried when france lost, so much, even my little cousin, and we're not even french. we're british. i never cried when england lost but when i did for france, my sister called me a traitor.

The USA, whose best game (which the world should remember) was against Italy. Even being short players, McBride (their best player - not the useless Donovan) being purposely assaulted by an Italian player in the face, was the only team to score against Italy other than France. Finally, Bruce Arena is gone. When the media asked him about what motivational speech he gave to the team, his comment was " I didn't give them one, they know what to do".
The same comment was said by England's coach, Sven. He needs to be gone next!! I cried the day England was eliminated because I had so much hope they would go further. It was if the fire was just burned out of them through this Cup. Rooney might be a great player, but he was useless for this event. Thank God for Beckham at least scoring and trying to motivate the team. They had so many great individual players but as a team they didn't play as a team.
My prediction all along was that it would be Italy or France in the final game. As an American everyone kept saying it was to be Brazil winning again, so I told everyone it would be Italy beating Brazil. Luca Toni is a great player who has worked his way up to finally play in the premier league and for Italy in the World Cup, so his was a great story.
But deep down I truly wanted France to be in the final game, not for France, but for one of my all-time favorite players Zinedine. So what a game it was to be. I would be routing for both teams.
But for my history and memories of the final game, I will always feel sad at how it ended. I truly understand why Zizou did what he did. I have worked with soccer players from around the world, and I do believe what Materazzi said was purposeful and wrong. I should feel happy that Italia won but I still feel so sad.
But in the end it was a game, and there are worse and terrible things going on in the world which are much sadder. It's to bad that mankind and countries couldn't just challenge each other to football games instead of killing each other.
Other disappointments, Republic of Ireland and Roy Keane didn't make it again. Even though Roy just retired. He would make a great coach for England. And Luis Figo of Portugal should have been able to play his entire last game. What's up with that Scholari?

Italy, when they danced off the pitch in laddish triumph after being GIVEN that final moment goal against Australia's Socceroos by an "amazing" ref. And I always had thought the Italians were civilised and sensitive. Logically it could have been Australia's trophy, but the penalty area dive is an Italian art form (though rampant nowadays all over Europe).

France, because they didn't play a fair play vers Italy.
They steal a penalty with a beatiful dive o Malouda and after they use the head in the worst manner!!!
And they also have the courage to say something to Italy!!!
They go in final with very bad matches and they can make gol only with penalty!

not really broke my heart, but France. Knowing my home country, USA, had absolutely no shot, i was with France all the way until Zidane did his headbanger finale. That's probably the worst way to retire, no matter what an Italien says about yomomma.

England, because once again, we were a complete waste of all the hype that we insist on giving the occassion. We also proved to be the most conservative team and therefore, the most boring to watch.

Italy broke my heart when they beat Germany. That was the worst loss I have ever seen. It was a terrible shock and it's the type of loss that makes you choke up with tears.

I'm American. I don't what the hell a world cup is. Isn't that the sport that involves poor kids kicking a ball around barefooted?
