Thistle Hotels are very nice for the money. I will be staying at the Thistle Charing Cross in October. I got a great rate of $100 per night. It is in the heart of all the action, close to SoHo with a tube stop right under the hotel. I booked on Priceline. Have a great trip!

Try the Ritz or the Dorchester. As long as you don't mind paying a few thousand per night.

Perhaps you should give us some idea of your budget.

I like to stay at Youth Hostels, and in particular the Earls Court Youth Hostel, it's cheap, nice and easy to get anywhere in the city.
