i suggest you get one of those tall glass domes they make for displaying china dolls, the base may need to be drilled and have a t shaped wooden or metal frame put into the center of the base, then tie your shoe strings together, and then tie the strings to the wire frame or wooden frame. add a few silk flowers, or a sheet of music from a ballet, or a few white feathers for swan lake, or just artfully gather some tulle in behind the shoes. slip on the glass dome and there you are. a wonderful memory for life. you can find the domes at doll shops, or doll companies on line or sometimes at Michaels arts and crafts or Hobby Lobby. id love to know how your shoes turn out. hugs from an old crippled ballerina.

Old Pointe Shoes

You could try a deep shadowbox to display them in (I did that with mine as they were a little, shall we say, SMELLY to hang on the wall all by themselves.) You could put in a nice fabric background, maybe using one of those old tutus! You could also, if you saved the ribbons from bouquets you got, braid the ribbons of the shoes together with these and hang them that way.

Putting them on display is a great idea, especially since they are such a investment when they're brand new! :)

What I do is tie the ribbons together in a square knot then spray the shoes with hairspray.

You can tie the ribbons at different lengths so that when you hang them they can have contrast etc.

Some people like to decorate old pointes with paint and sequins. Personally I don't like to do that.

First, wash them and place it in a glass square box or a hexagon or any shape you want. Put your pointe shoes vertically in the fifth position or one is erected and the other one slanted or lying down . Arrange the shoes laces around and extended to project an artistic flow. Add some Crystal marbles or stars or jellies with different colors and/or confetti. You can more colorful or attractive item into your box. You can put your picture besides it if you like. Hope I helped you.
