Whats the best way to paint over Kitchen Paneling and cabinets?
I think both are about 50 years old with I am sure years of grease and grime. The kitchen cabinets also have decals on them that wont come off easily?

Start with a medium grit sandpaper and lightly sand (will probably take the decals off too) until you have removed all of the old finish and grime. You might want to use a palm sander, but hand-sand any curves or radius to prevent oversanding. Finish up wish fine grit to smooth out surface.Good luck. If the paneling has grooves in it, you can fill them in. Ask at your local paint store what they recommend you fill it with. Then sand it smooth before painting.

get a strong cleaner and wipe it down to get the grease residue off. Prime it for sure. Don't sand it. Put a high quality paint to finish. Good luck.
Sanding is a waste of time in this instance. Unless you have really rough wood it isn't needed.

if you dont want to take the panles down and put new drywall up than get all the stickers off, they have sticker remover at hardware stores liek home depot and lowes, than get yourself some sandpaper and sand the panles to knock off all the shine, you will see what i mean, it will be dull looking instead of shiny, than get kils(its a primer so anythign left on the wall wont show through) than just paint . . .it sounds more comlicated than it is here

clean walls as best as possible
get sticker remover and get off sticker
get sandpaper and sand the paneling
get kils primer and prime the walls
get paint and paint

sounds liek alot of work i know, but if you jsut paint over it, it will look worse than it does now i promies you

The best or the easiest?

I'm assuming you want the easiest because you are doing the job yourself.

Sand the cabinets with a sander, then paint with oil based paint.

I would start with plastering the lines ,painted paneling is just that, then sand till it feels smoth prime and paint and you shouldnt even be able to tell its paneling.the cabinets should be sanded cleaned then primed and painted.make sure to get all the dust off first though.might think about stain and poly if they are nice underneath.

Use Trisodium phosphate (tsp) to clean them, lightly sand, put 2 coats of primer on, then paint with a roller.
