Here is what I always say, "The best way to fix a broken heart is to throw it away and get a new one". This little mantra has gotten 3 of my dearest friends through ugly break ups. I think it's sweet you even care. Just spend time with her, show her there is life after guys.

I agree w/ Jenny. I am 17 years old and I just recently got my heart broken for the first time & because of it my Mom & I grew a lot closer because she was just there to listen to me. The best thing my Mom did was tell me about her past heart break experiences. The best thing you can tell your daughter is that "Everything happens for a reason." Just because she is 14 doesnt mean that her heart doesnt hurt because believe me just because we are "young" we still feel horrible. Take her shopping or just try to spend more time w/ her.

Start her off by telling her about your own experiences with men. From first love to now to establish a connection. Then let her talk about it. It is the only way to heal. But be a friend about it, not a mother.

well, im a 14 yr old boy so...id have to say you need to tell her that all of us go through this, cuz our minds are still developing, and we really dont know how to explain our feelings, or the right ways to carry out our actions. true love will come to her, but definetly not at this age.

Just validate her feelings and let her talk to you if she wants and cry it out. Dont say things like your too young or this is just puppy love or anything like that. Try to get her out with her girlfriends. Most of all just validate her feelings.

Its a difficult age. She wont want to talk to you about it unless you are close.

Just tell her something similar which happend in your life at that age. relate to her that way, she may open up but it has to be if she wants to, don't force her to talk if she doesn't want to, just let her know your there for her when she's ready.
