Either the glass is half empty or half full? For some, it largely depends on the circumstance (s).

Look adversity square in the eye; twitch your left hand to catch its attention then, with your right, shoot it.

Its not that the glass is half empty or half full, its that the glass is too big.

Seriously though.. I handle adversity many ways. Alcohol is under rated. Have a drink or two. You'll feel better.

I don't look at a glass. To me that is just asking for trouble. If I'm in a situation where I need to be optimistic and look at the good side, then I will look at it half full. Go with the flow! Now, if I'm in a situation where I need to worry or be pessimistic, then I will look at it half empty. If I'm in a situation where I'm really thirsty, then I hope my glass is completely full!!!

No, seriously, I just take each situation as they come. I don't want to make trouble where its not needed and in turn, I don't want to be caught with my guard down. Hope I answered your question.

Your are right, circumstances do assist in our decision making...the glass is half full if you are in the process of filling it/half empty if you are in the process of drinking from it...either can be "optimistic" by being thankful that you have something to put in your glass, as well as being refreshed by the drink itself.

I call on God to help me. I ask Him to guide my thinking, speaking, actions. I try to remember that the circumstances mean less than the way I deal with them...that whatever comes my way, I wish to be a good representative of what I say I believe.

Get down on my knees and pray. Talk to friends. Cry. Write a letter or email. Sleep it off for the night. Try to make myself laugh. Ignore it. Distract myself.

I don't drink out of a glass!
and as far as adversity, I lower my head, and "Bull" right through it, WHEN it matters that I overcome it.

Denial and repression. And then therapy (for like, a decade).
