I have a few pairs of jeans that i want to put holes in, in like my thight area and stuff, and i was curious how to get good professional looking holes? Kind of like at hollister and abercrombie, except cheaper. I've heard things like using a cheese grater and stuff.

10 pts whoever has the best, serious, answer, that works. lol. =]

A GREAT way to do it is with sanpaper! It works soo well.
1. Lay the jeans down flat
2. cut a TINY little whole in the area you want to work with
3. Start sanding the area and stop when you are satisfied.
4. work in a circular motion

* have someone hold the jeans tight as you are doing this!!
*A really cute look is when the are only half holes.. you know when there are still a few strands across the hole. It is very sexy because it shows leg but there isn't a BIG gaping hole!
Good luck! BE PATIENT! =)

Hey i LOVE shopping at those places(especially AEROPASTAL) but enough about me. I think the best way to do it is start off as a smaller hole first. then when you wash and wear for a while,,the hole will soon get bigger. It happen to a pair of my pants when i didn't want to to but i still wear them because you can get someone like a home economics teacher sew a cool frabric behind it so like if you have on a white t-shirt with a yellow colllar shirt over it you can get some yellow and white stripe pattern to go under it. BE CREATIVE and HAVE FUN

It's better to just let it happen on it's own. When you do them yourself, the holes probably won't look natural in the places you put them. You probably shouldn't put them in the thigh area. The only time I've seen holes in the thigh area is on a heavy set person and the holes are from his/her thighs rubbing together. Instead, squat down and make a hole at your knee.

The thing with holes is they will get bigger. I would use a sewing machine and just make a random shape and reinforce it a couple of times. Then go with a knife or a scissors and pierce the denim inside of that circle and make pie pieces then unravel the denim by hand and trim the fringe with a scissors.

You can use a cheese grater and also a piece of heavy sand paper. May I also suggest you cut a whole in the place you want and then fray the hole.

Cut a hole at the bottom of your jeans, somewhere below your knee, to see if you like this affect. After you cut the hole, pull on the threads that are parallel to the hole. Wash them and see if anymore fall loose and just fray them until you get the affect you're after.

The best way to do it would be to take a razor and scrape the area that you want to. Do this until you get the look you want. You could also take a pair of scissors and open them then use them.

all you do is put on the jeans and find where you want the holes then mark it with a sharpie. take off the jeans and get a womens shaving razor (not electronic) and then like your shaving cut up the sharpie spots. and it works i'v done it before!
