to get high speed internet from them my connetions speeds are 2.9 down and 361 upload. I have a wireless laptop and i don't know which neighbor has the internet connetion.

NO... it's no type of crime whatsoever !

You are benefitting from a signal that your laptop is picking up- that is very different than hacking.

If they want, they can secure the wavelength- but it's their neglegence for not securing it.

In WA state, it is perfectly legal as long as you do not do any thing illegal, such as hacking or looking at pornos. If your neighbors did not want you to access thier internet, it's thier fault for not taking the time to secure thier wireless connection.

It's not illegal to receive an unscrambled broadcast signal. They should protect their own network. It's simple to do. Until then enjoy.

Haha yea it is illegal(your not going to jail or anything) but its their fault for not putting a password on their connection. Keep using it.....

definite. this is used as "theft of centers". you would be sued via your ISP. all and sundry to whom you provide that provider won't sign with the ISP for the provider. so they are dropping the money on an identical time as your buddies have become the provider. they'd sue you (and your buddies) for that.

if its not bothering anyone just go with it if its hi speed they will never know it you can run up to 75 computers on one connection
