Are you kidding? He murdered hundreds, perhaps thousands, of people with no regret. Is that changing his ways?

Yes I do believe that Saddam has changed his ways
something about an eight foot squared room after living in palaces that will do that to a man
And now the guards around him are keeping him in as opposed to being interested all that much in keeping everyone else out
There is far less of the high life and a whole lot more worry about life
And as far as there being those who idolize the man and think he is an object of affection---there are a lot of people on this planet that don't have a clue what they're doing any way---look at the number of deathrow inmates that get proposals of marraige in the mail from women they've never even met---the world is filled with all sorts of whack jobs that would belly up to any thing or any body they saw as "something" no matter what that "something " was

He's the epitome of evil. Even the devil has followers. He'll be hugging one person, and hanging another 10. Now, I don't think he'll change.
