They are both great singers. And they both took Van Halen to the top. I think David was what the band needed in the 80's. And I think Sammy is what they needed in the 90's. By the way, I just saw David Lee Roth last Sunday. I think if you were to ask me this question based on how they sound now, Sammy would win.
