i got about 15,000 bucks. im 27.
is that doing ok, or im way, way behind the norm?
and if all your family and/or friends cares about is your standing in life, as opposed to u per se, then why should u care about what they think?

I'm the same age as you, and I had my children young. I have nothing in the bank, lol. All of my friends including those without children also have nothing in the bank. Sounds like you have a good head on your shoulders and if you're family says different you should tell them where to go. You are an adult and they need to mind their own business. Ask them this. Are you borrowing money from them? Have you filed for bankrupcy, or in any debt? No!!!!!!! Most people are far far worse off than you are. Your family doesn't sound very nice at all. Tell them to stuff it and to remember what they probably told you as a child. If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.

That depends. If you have 15,000 saved in the bank or if you have 15,000 bucks currently being used to make payments. The other thing is, is 15,000 growing? If so, (in other words you have a job that brings income) you're off to a slow start, but if not, you're gonna be in trouble real soon.

unfortunately you're doing much better than the average 27yr old. Sad but true most people our age don't have a pot to pi** in, and are living paycheck to paycheck trying to afford a car payment and rent that they really shouldn't be paying on. If you have a car payment right now, take 10k of that money and buy a car outright that will last you about 5yrs. get rid of all your debt and start saving what you can with a business plan in mind or just invest at least 40% of your income.

You have more than me and we are the same age. If you are not studying at this time I think you should have more. You need to work a little harder and invest more. Sometimes your family and friends are only looking out for your best interest. Do not take it so hard . On the other hand do not let them depress you. Just take it one day at a time.
