A Philadelphia station had a show "Captain Noah and His Magical Ark" They would do stints with puppets or guests, then play popeye cartoons. They had a contest to go meet the Captain, his wife & crew. I begged my Mom to send in the post card. A few weeks later, Mom was cleaning the tub, I was watching "MY" show & they picked my postcard from the bin & read my name ON TV! I screamed so loud my Mom fell in the tub, then ran to see if I was ok!
I was the happiest 5 yr old on the planet that day!

A tie:between 2 mythical shows in new york: Soupy sales - Had a cult following in new york enable's have exciting - 3 hours on Sunday Morning with Laurel & Hardy, the three Stooges, Popeye cartoons, and loopy Chuck McCann as host. This tutor made Wonderama & Sonny Fox look like no longer something in an prolonged time I have been given addicted to ask your self Theater and Chiller Theater - previous undesirable horror & SF video clips presented via Zacherley - It did no longer get any further clever.

Are You Afraid of the Dark? was my absolute favorite. I can still remember my favorite episode to this day.
I also liked Reading Rainbow, Mr. Wizard, Salute Your Shorts, Pete and Pete and a lot of the Nicktoons back in the day like Doug (the original one) and Aaagh! Real Monsters. I was a Nickelodeon freak for a couple of years.
