" Dying is easy, comedy is hard " Sarah Bernhardt once said that during the nineteenth century. Generally, and this is my own personal observation, funny men often make profound serious actors.
See some of Jackie Gleasons' ' Honeymooners ' episode, then see him in ' Gigot '.
You'll see what I mean.
I can't get your guidance for you, we all embark on a several journey. That's what life is, self development as it were.
It is up to your intellect and personality which is no doubt unique.
Whatever it is, I know you'll make the right choice if integrity is your supreme consideration.

It depends on how you feel you are better perceived. There are few actors who can do both well, although they do exist, and they started with one first. I personally think its very difficult to do humor, you must have excellent timing and a be able to carry the audience. If it was me, I'd do drama.

go more with humor. If you do serious you're limited. With humor you can basicly practice both. Look at some movies like Bruce Almighty. They have a mixture of both.

Start off with comedy. A lot of actors that start off doing that can usually switch over to drama later. Since serious actors limit what they will & will not do you may get more chances to act more often doing things other won't.

Humorous is extremely hard and you have to have an innate nature for that, so I say go with serious!

Why limit yourself?....take up both. Then always have a backup plan. It's a difficult field you're trying to get in to.

Oh please, it's up to YOU! And really, acting is a VERY difficult business to break into and you need to start in community theater. They will guide you and see if you really have any talent.

Do what works for you. You won't know, untill you've tried.
Take a few classes and find out what works for you.
