What I mean is that you are put on this earth to do something great that would change the world we know so that people start believing in themselves and have hope so they don't have to fear going out their door everyday.

Yes, I have thought about this many times.....and I always come back to the same conclusion. My greater purpose on this earth is doing, being, creating, acting, loving,.....living the way I'm supposed to be right now. For whatever you are involved in right now is your greater purpose. If something happens to develop later in life and that actually does touch every corner of the world in a positive way that is great. But, I say you are already touching those in your world more than you think. By free will, only you can decide on whether your doings are going to change the world around you or not.

My conclusion to myself when I go through this question, maybe I was meant to be the best husband/father/friend/brother/son for those people I live with and love...maybe that IS my higher purpose....not to be someone "famous" that changed the entire world. Don't know if what I'm saying makes sense or not, but you are probably living your higher purpose and don't realise it or don't understand it. Probably, you'll go through all of life in search of it and never fully understand. It's the same boat we are all in....Good luck in your search.

No, I don't think I was put on this earth to do anything great that would change the world in any way actually...but that has nothing to do with believing in myself and knowing I'm a kewl and worthwhile person.

I don't know that people fear leaving home because they don't think they can change the world...I would imagine not too many people worry about that.

Oh yes I do believe in God. He allows us free will and that is the reason somethings don't always come out the way you thing they should. It would be nice not to fear going out everyday.

Without proof, its hard to believe that the earth is flat....doh! I mean, i would like to believe in a higher existence, but without proof, its just fanciful thinking....

If you rephrase the question to read:

"Does any believe in higher existence?" I would say yes, Remove the singular 'a' and things fall into place.

I believe.

we were all put on this earth to be of help to each other, to teach through experience...
in saying that, you are right.
God works through people he is the spirit that speaks love and truth, health and healing..empowerment and education with out it all we would be lesser then the animals that crawl about us.

Every one has to believe in higher existence - call it God or almighty or some other name

I wasn't "put" here... and I only believe what I can know.... a higher existence can be believed but not justified, so it can not be knowledge...
