theres that bottle of stp complete fuel system...now is that the same as in takin my truck to a place and getting a fuel system cleaning..can anyone help..anyone with real knowledge,thanks.

well i did,,they put this cylinder looking bottle with a hose and little droplets seem to be going to the ..valves.intanks..im still learning..

sheesh..he took a hose off and plug that in to the cylinder and he said it aws suppose to clean the chambers ..didnt semm like it wasnt doin anything.

Sounds like you were getting an intake cleaning using a product like Run-Rite. This feeds a solvent into the intake manifold of your car, where it cleans out oil and strips carbon from valves. The STP valve cleaner, like Techron and other products, can help to keep carbon off the valves so that the valves seat better and your car maintains good compression.

The professional intake cleaning process should get things pretty clean in one treatment. If you do it yourself with STP valve cleaner, I suggest putting a bottle in the next three times you fill the tank. In other words, when you fill up, add a bottle of STP or Techron. Next time you fill up, add another bottle. Do this three times in a row, then add a bottle once every three months or so. That should help clean out any heavy deposits and keep them from re-forming.

no, if you were to take it to a mechanic, the machine they put it on should flow both ways, the stp only goes one way through the system.
