My rabbits aren't purebred, but lived much longer then expected. So if you've been doing a good job caring for Monkey then he could easily have a few more years to live.

I found a few sources for you.

1. http://www.petplanet.co.uk/petplanet/breeds/Rabbit_-_Netherland_Dwarf.htm

"Lifespan On average the Netherland Dwarf rabbit can live to 7 years or more. "

2. http://www.petplace.com/small-mammals/choosing-a-netherland-dwarf-rabbit/page1.aspx#

"The average life span of a breeding Netherland dwarf rabbit is 5 to 6 years. By spaying or neutering early in life, you can increase their life expectancy to around 10 years."

3. http://www.islandgems.net/averagedwarf.html

"Life Span
7 years"

So, you see it varies a little based on care and such but hopefully that'll give you some idea.

A non fixed rabbit will usually live to be about 3 or 4. While a fixed rabbit can live to be 7-10 with some living longer. So your rabbit is a senior citizen.

I had a rabbit, but I'm not sure what kind she was. My vet said that the average life is about 6-8 years, but mine was almost 12 when she died. The vet said it was the oldest bunny he'd ever seen.

They usually live about 7 years. This is a rough figure. If you take really good care of him, he could live to be 10.
