He won't get rid of it claims he got it 4 me even though I've told him repeatedly that I don't want the cat. I know it won't get put down but he still won't get rid of it. I have to sweep every day to ensure my 7 month old doens't grab a furball to play with. She's been to the vet & goes to the groomers 2 a month. Doesn't help. Can someone please help? It's stressing our marriage!!

Talk to him about it and tell him how much the cat is stressing you out. If he doesn't want to hear about it, then there is probably something else going on that you don't realize.
Try asking around if anyone wants a cat so you have an option instead of just giving the cat to the shelter. Don't say anything about it shedding- just that you want to get rid of it because of your child.

Ideally it would be great if you two could work out what the issue is below the cat problem.

In the mean time talk to your pediatrician about the cat problem She/he may suggest you get rid of the cat or change the setup.

It's also possible that all the stress of your relationship with hubby is stressing out the cat and having her shed so much???

Maybe you could get the cat shaved? ;o)

Good luck.

P.S. I've found the best thing for grooming your cat is the little comb you get when you bring the baby home from the hospital. The really narrow teeth work just like the more expensive combs you can buy for the cat.

Brushing a cat daily can help a lot. Get an actual cat fur brush from the vet. Cats usually love it, and if he loves the cat, and loves you, he should be more than willing to brush it daily. Takes 10 minutes. If he won't do that, then I think you have to find another home for the cat and it can't be an option any more. If he wants the cat, he has to contribute to its maintenance. If he doesn't care and won't help, well then you are in charge. However, I'd suggest marriage counseling if he is that insensitive to you, your child, and to the cat!

Ooops! The door got left open and kitty cat went outside and never came back.

Tell your hubby you appreciate the gift of a cat, you tried it and it is not working out and that you will make sure you find a good home for it. There is no reason to stress your marriage out over a cat. Good luck!

Get rid of the cat yourself. That's just nasty and unhealthy to have all the fur around the house especially with a 7 month old baby. If hubby has a problem with that, tell him he can go join that cat.

The Catholic Church teaches those who the planet is about 2,000 years old, dinosaurs not in any respect existed or a minimum of cohabited with present day Homo sapiens, Jesus hates homosexuals, tattooed people, Obama and immigrants and truly all of us who isn't an observant Christian is going to be chucked into the lake of fireplace on the end of days. Why ought to really all of us have something to do with a company it is so blatantly hateful, purposefully ignorant and thoroughly with none moral common sense and reasoning? common sense dictates that purely the alternative of something which the Church claims to be absolutely the reality is genuine. Bible thumpers likely ought to fail to maintain on with that string of common sense. at the same time as FDR got here up with Social safe practices, people everywhere all started screaming Socialism. 70 years down the line, old people in the course of the country, the low earnings and no earnings communities, the disabled and the unemployed ought to probable die of starvation and overlook if Social safe practices became not there. The Church argues hostile to Obamacare because it supplies away free contraceptives to women. in case you concentrate on intently, the church has no different floor to base their arguments hostile to Obamacare. In result the the Catholic Church is doing regardless of the reality that that's doing to maintain its own interests with finished dismiss for the desires of each and every person else. Sounds very unchristian, no?

You need to tell him that there are priorities now and the cat has to take a back seat to the baby. I would just present it to him as a health issue for the baby and demand the cat go. What if the cat freaks out and scratches the baby ? Put it that way and he will have no way out.

Brush the cat daily. Your child can't "grab a fur ball". Sounds like cat is stressed too. Stop making a mountain out of a mole hill.

I have 2 cats, and we would have the same problem except we take care of their fur. I'm not saying you don't.

You can go to Pet Smart or any pet store, and buy a special comb made for cats. It help get rid of loose fur, and is good for your cat's skin. My cat's love getting they're coats combed! The one we bought was around $8, but it's worth it.

We also do something else. We buy lint rollers from Wal-Mart. You can get 8-packs too from Sam's Club, but one costs around $2.88 from Wal-Mart. What you do is you just roll you're cat! This gets rid of almost all of their loose fur, and it doesn't hurt them. My cat's also love this!

I follow a routine everyday, combing my cats, and then rolling them. They love this, and it's good for them. My cat's barely have any loose fur anymore. It's also good if your cat has dandruff.

Good luck!

Go to pet store and look at the vitamins for cats and there are usually ones that say help coat and such. Or run over it in driveway then have it stuffed and put over fireplace. Good luck.
