The only disadvantage is that I can see is that the couple aren't able to have kids that are a product of their two gene pools, but they at least can adopt children.

Your choice is a freedom in our country. I respect that choice and you. You are lucky to have someone that you love and loves you too.
The disadvantage is that same sex marriages do not enter heaven after leaving earth.
It is a tough call when you feel so strongly about your present lifestyle on earth. But, life on earth is much shorter than our life in eternity.

None. I wish I was gay because I really can't stand women. I never had a girlfriend who wasn't a needy clingy psycho. I would love to be with another guy. I tried being gay, but I just can't do it. and the kid situation is actually another huge advantage of same sex marrage, because you actually have a choice whether or not to have kids, and not have some woman ruin your life by getting knocked up.

I believe that the only disadvantage is that people frown upon the idea making laws, rules and regulations, especially religious people.
