I have had people laugh at me cause of the music I listen to, the books I read, the clothes I chose, the TV shows I watch... what on EARTH? It doesn't make any sense to me.

I've noticed through personal experience that sometimes people laugh & make fun of other ppl just b/c of how they dress or whatever b/c they feel like putting you down will in the process make them look better! They are just the insecure one, and alot of times it makes them jealous b/c ppl like you can express themselves with out fear. They just wish they could, but no, they're too self absorbed in themselves thinking someone may not approve & then they'd be the one getting laughed at! Screw 'em! Be Yourself Girl! You're Awesome however you are!

It is unfortunate that people judge you, or anyone else. It is unacceptable to judge anyone, so make it a part of your life NOT to ever do this to anyone.
If you are spending time with music, TV, books that are off the edge, that may bring on some harassment. It shouldn't, but it does. When it does, ask yourself if you really want to watch that show or read that book. Does it please you or satisfy you that much? Than keep watching...
If not, then maybe you picked a show or book as an impulse that doesn't have a popular appeal. Nothing wrong with that. Either way, it is your choice to pick what you like.
That is what makes this country so great, freedom!

People are just crazy like that. I like grits with eggs, cheese and bacon in it. My ex used to make fun of it and ask me how I could eat that, but when I asked her if she had ever tried it, she said no. I said to her how do you know you would not like it too, she said that she could just tell by looking at it. This was simply a childish personality disorder that she never out grew. People have all kinds of personality disorders that were never corrected when they were children, so as adults it becomes more destructive to others. How can you judge someone on something that you have never experienced, it's an irrational way to think, and it is one of the big problems in the world today.

My guess would be they are insecure about their choices and since you don't like what they like, they make fun of you. They may be afraid they've made the "wrong" choice in their tastes. Just ignore them and keep listening to, reading, wearing, and watching what you like.

Deep down in our hearts....ALL of us have something that we like that may seem odd to others, but I commend you because not too many people have the courage to stand up and be exactly who they are. Other people want to be themselves, but are too afraid of what others may think of them. They're jealous of you, because they feel that you are actually happier than they are. Stay true, and continue to be yourself.

Alot of people think that if ur different then u are not cool... but I think if ur different then that is what makes u so unique... I have never been a follower who cares what others thinks of you as long as your happy....
