people marry because it's tradition, and because we are taught that's how things should be to raise children. Also there are health benefits and inheritance rights and other legal things that come with marraige.

Young people say they're never getting married because about 1/2 of all marriages end in divorce, so there's a really good chance that these young people have lived through the divorce of their parents and they don't want to go through that themselves. And I don't really blame them.

Younger people don't believe in marriage as much anymore. We have been raised in divorced households, often with multiple divorces and marriages. The result is a jaded view of what marriage is and a belief that it often doesn't work out. Unfortunately, people getting married for the wrong reasons, such as security, or they feel they are running out of time, or are comfortable or do not think they can do better. I believe in marriage but do not plan on getting married until I have done everything i want and accomplish life goals. Then when I find the right person, I want to be with them for a long time before we marry.

People marry because of many reasons.
Some people marry because they have children together, for money for sex, or just for the hell of it.
Marriage is the right thing when you are educated and mature enough to understand what the purpose of marriage is. Basically, it stems from the Bible Adam and Eve.
My daughter is 13 she says shes never getting married because she doesn't think there are any males who will be strong enough, sane enough, morally correct, and decent enough for her. She has high standards for herself.
Its hard to find someone who has their heart in the right place.
